March 15, 2020 – Third Sunday of Lent
Text: Luke 5:27-35
Focus: Jesus chose a very interesting group to be his spokesmen. One was considered a “terrorist” by the Roman occupiers (Simon the Zealot). Another worked for the occupying force (Levi/Matthew). How do we respond when God seems to be calling someone that we really don’t like or appreciate?

March 22, 2020 – Fourth Sunday of Lent
Text: Luke 19:1-10
Focus: A week before he was executed Jesus went through Jericho on his way to Jerusalem. It was then and there that he encountered Zacchaeus. This is one more example of Jesus interacting with someone who was not appreciated by the religious leaders of his time.

March 29, 2020 – Fifth Sunday of Lent (flannel and wool shirt Sunday)
Text: Matthew 26:6-16 and/or Mark 14:1-10
Focus: Just two days before he was executed Jesus was the guest of honor at a meal put together by a man named Simon (the Leper). An unnamed woman burst into the party, went right to Jesus, broke a bottle of perfume and poured it on his head. Scandalous!
